The ION CLUB team is ready to offer you unforgettable windsurfing, kitesurfing and wingfoil holidays in Fuerteventura. Only a few spots in the world offer such great and diverse conditions all on the same island. We have two water sports centers in Fuerteventura. The ION CLUB Risco del Paso and the ION CLUB Costa Calma. While kitesurfing and windsurfing are only possible in Risco del Paso, the center in Costa Calma offers wingfoil and windsurfing. Conditions vary from perfectly flat water to beautiful surf conditions in the waves. No matter if you are a windsurfer, kitesurfer, wingfoiler beginner or advanced, Fuerteventura is the perfect playground for surfing!

We offer a daily shuttle service from Costa Calma as well as from our center in Risco del Paso and back, and the service is also possible from the hotels on the beach of Sotavento. If you wish to use the shuttle service you must make the reservation the day before.

A WORD FROM THE DESTINATION MANAGER

In Costa Calma you will find all the services you need: many hotels a few minutes away from the ION CLUB centre, restaurants, bars … unlike Risco del Paso which is located in a national park in the middle of the Canarian seaside desert, however the centre here breathes nature! I love both the water in front of our ION CLUB Costa Calma centre for speedy wing and windsurfing on a completely smooth water surface, and when I feel like surfing some waves if the weather conditions allow it or kite surfing, I rush to Risco del Paso, also looking for a more natural landscape. The advantage of Costa Calma is also the proximity to go for a drink after my surfing session without getting back in the car. But for kiteboarding, the long sandy beach of Risco del Paso gives me that feeling of freedom that I don’t have elsewhere. The wind blows almost all year round in Fuerteventura, and the temperatures are pleasant all the time. Just a few hours from the European continent, it is an island that looks like a paradise to me, for any snowboarder. It’s time to come and see us!

RISCO DEL PASO

The huge sandy beach and the windsurfing and kitesurfing spot of Risco del Paso are in a class of their own. Indeed, it is difficult to find a spot that offers so many different conditions in the same place. It is surely the best speed spot for windsurfing, right in front of the ION CLUB center, living up to its great reputation. Depending on the tide, there is a large area where you can walk, perfect for intermediate windsurfers or to perfect your waterstart and jibe. Windsurfing in Fuerteventura is possible for everyone. Another advantage of the island is that when the tide is high, there are two shallow water lagoons that allow us to give lessons to windsurfing beginners, which is safe and comfortable. Our kitesurfing school gives lessons on the left side of the spot in a separate area from the windsurfers. Kitesurfing in Fuerteventura is also a very popular activity.

COSTA CALMA

In front of the ION CLUB Fuerteventura center in Costa Calma, you will find great conditions for wingfoil in the Canaries and also for windsurfing. The conditions are advantageous for beginners in the morning and for the self-sufficient for the rest of the day. The windsurfing courses for beginners are mostly held in very easy conditions. The same goes for the wingfoil courses. Once the wind has kicked in and increased, speed lovers will be delighted to find excellent conditions on a flat and very windy stretch of water. In short, Costa Calma as well as Fuerteventura in general are a real paradise for windsurfing and any other water-based activity.

HOW TO GET THERE?

From Fuerteventura Airport

The trip from Fuerteventura airport to Costa Calma takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes, slightly longer to Risco del Paso, and about 1 hour and 40 minutes to Esquinzo. From the airport, take the FV-2 towards Morro Jable and Jandia. The ION CLUB Costa Calma center is located on the beach, right in front of the SBH Costa Calma Palace and the Monica Beach Hotel. If you rented a car at the airport and want to go from Costa Calma to Risco del Paso, take the FV-2 towards Morro Jable to km 72 “Risco del Paso”, then turn left along a path to this little surfing paradise – it takes about 20 minutes. On the other hand, if you leave Esquinzo to drive to Risco del Paso, take the FV-2 here in the direction of Jandia, and then turn right along a path.
