The wind in front of the ION CLUB Kitesurf Center in Safaga blows side offshore in the morning which is perfect for windsurf trips to the famous offshore spot Toubia island. At around 11.00 a.m the wind usually turns sideshore and becomes a littel more steady. Safaga is an amazing spot for Kitesurfers of all levels. Ideal for exceptional freeriding, Foiling, or practising new manouvers.
Our ION CLUB Kitesurf Center in Safaga is equipped with the latest and full range of DUOTONE Kiteboarding gear. Choose freely between EVO, NEO, DICE, or REBEL, available in large quantities and all sizes.
Our Duotone Board stocks range from various Twintips such as Jaime, Select, Gonzales and Soleil. The range of Kitesurfing toys is topped up with Click Bars and different Kite Foil Boards for you to play with!
Our Instructors will be more than happy to help you finding the perfect setup for the day!

Ensuring your safety during each of your Kitesurfing session at the ION CLUB Safaga is a top priority !
All our Kitesurfing rental guests will be under the supervision of our safety team. The watchout station at the Center is always occupied by a lifeguard looking over the Kitesurfers during daytime, and able to act immediately in case of any emergency. The safety team is ready at all times to attend rescues with the zodiac.
If you still feel a little uncomfortable riding on your own, our team offers a special supervised rental option in order to enable you to become an independet Kitesurfer, avoiding any stress along the way.
FLEXIBILITY
Since Kitesurfing is a wind driven sport and weather conditions might change, we understand that flexibility is key when it comes to equipment choice. Therefore no matter which rental option you choose, you will always have the choice of several different boards and kites to use here in Safaga.

As one of our kite rental guests you can use all standard kites and boards available out of the DUOTONE range. Change your kite size or model as often as you like and find your favorite combination each day you kite.
We have a wide selection of standard kites, twintips and straplessboards, as well as wetsuits, harnesses and more. We renew our stock regularly and we always have some of the latest equipment available. So come and ride with us, no need to carry your equipment and you will be able try the latest toys at our station.
SLS, and D-Lab range available in some of our centers at extra cost.
Requirements
A Kitesurf license is required to rent Equipment. VDWS min. Level 5 or IKO 3K. If no License existing we need to do a Level Check up

A word about
ION CLUB Safaga
Located about 50 kilometers south of Hurghada, the Egyptian destination of Safaga is home to many scuba diving clubs, and is also one of the best wingsurfing, kitesurfing and windsurfing spots in Egypt. The contrast between the deep blue and turquoise colours of the Red Sea, and the arid mountains of the hinterland makes Safaga a fantastic setting for your kitesurfing or wingfoiling trip in this particularly windy desert. Since 1991, the ION CLUB Safaga center, close to the Shams hotels, has been one of the best addresses among the kitesurfing centers in Egypt. ION CLUB Safaga has offered kitesurfing since 2003, with courses and rentals on offer. Recently we offer wingfoiling courses and rental. One of the highlights of the spot for all kitesurfers, wingfoilers and windsurfers are the organized trips to the paradise island of Tobia, a small sandy island located close by.

WIND
In the morning, the wind blows side-offshore, coming from the left when looking at the sea, turning side-shore around noon. The wind conditions in the morning favour kitesurfing and windsurfing beginners. It is also a perfect opportunity for independent kiters to take advantage of an excursion to Tobia Island, a sandy island surrounded by turquoise water less than 4 kilometers from the ION CLUB center ... not to be missed! In the afternoon, the wind turns to side-shore and often becomes stronger, around 20-25 knots, sometimes a little more until the end of the day. In order to limit incidents between kitesurfers and windsurfers, two separate areas are set up, and the few coral areas are clearly marked. You can relax and sail without risk … the Safaga kitesurfing and windsurfing center has thought of everything!

HOW TO GET THERE ?
From Hurghada Airport
After leaving Hurghada airport, take the new highway south to Safaga. Follow the highway for about 45 minutes (60 km), then take the first exit before Safaga. After about 200 meters, turn left in front of the Amarina Hotel and drive to the end of the road, where you will find the Shams Hotels and the ION CLUB center.
