COURSE ORGANISATION AND SAFETY
We understand that apart from professional tuition, the most important thing when it comes to improving your windsurfing skills is time to practice. Our instructors will create a safe learning environment, enabling you to train and to receive professional feedback on whatever you are working to improve.
Depending on the type of lesson and content, we will either teach you in small groups or individually.
We have two towers with lifeguards watching the water all of the time, with one tower on the right of the center and the other on the left. There is a jetski/boat dedicated to rescue service.
FLEXIBLITY
We understand that choosing a windsurfing lesson package from home might be difficult. Don´t worry! No matter which package you choose, if during the lesson the instructor realizes that another package would be more suitable for you, you can always change that on site. You will never have to join a lesson which doesn´t suit your expectations or level.
After every session your instructor will give you detailed feedback and recommendations on how to continue – no matter which course you initially booked. Your success and progress is all that matters to us!

For all of you who never tried windsurfing before, you will learn the very basics. For the ones who have had some windsurfing experience before, we will pick up on the things you remember, refresh knowledge and skills and make sure you feel safe and comfortable on the water.
During these 6 hours, you will learn the very basics of Windsurfing.
From how to lift the sail up from the water to the first rides in both directions.
Typically splitted in 3 sessions of 2 hours, it will take place according to the wind conditions.
NB: in DPC Sicily, price displayed for group or private tuition is per hour and per person.

Over 10 hours in a small group setting, you’ll go from the very basics all the way to confidently riding and turning on a board with a daggerboard.

A word about
ION CLUB Costa Calma
The ION CLUB Costa Calma center is located very close to Morro Jable, a popular tourist area in the southeast of Fuerteventura. It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to drive from Fuerteventura Airport to Costa Calma.
Right on the beach, in front of the Monica Beach Hotel, ION CLUB Costa Calma enjoys a side-offshore wind. Near the shore, the wind is good for beginners in windsurfing; farther out, it picks up in summer afternoons (up to around 30 knots), offering perfect conditions for freeriders and freestylers on flat water. The spot is also great for wingfoiling: beginners can learn without stress, while more experienced riders can rent gear and enjoy long sessions. A versatile and safe spot for all levels and all types of riders.

Enjoy this ideally located spot, it’s just a short walk from most hotels in the village.

WIND
At low tide, you can stand for the first 30 meters, as the fine sandy beach slopes down slowly. On the other hand, at high tide, the water becomes deep quickly. There may be a small harmless beach break due to the movement of the sand at this time. Directly in front of the center, a launch is reserved for windsurfers. No waves - or very rarely - at the center of Costa Calma! If you're looking for waves, you'd better go to our other ION CLUB center in Risco del Paso, about 20 minutes by road.
WAVES
At low tide you can easily stand for the first 30 meters as the sandy beach drops down smoothly. At high tide it gets deep after the first 10 to 15 meters. In the afternoon you can find a harmless little beachbreak due to the sandy beach. Directly in front of the center there is a sandy 40 meters entrance reserved for windsurfers. No waves at Costa Calma center! Better at the Risco del Paso center.
HOW TO GET TO COSTA CALMA?
From Fuerteventura Airport
The trip from Fuerteventura airport to Costa Calma takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. From the airport by car take the FV-2 towards Morro Jable and Jandia. The ION CLUB Costa Calma center is located on the beach right in front of the SBH Costa Calma Palace and the Monica Beach Hotel. If you want to go from Costa Calma to Risco del Paso, drive on the FV-2 towards Morro Jable until PK 72 "Risco del Paso".
