At ION CLUB Oasis212, in front of the center, the lagoon opens wide toward the city of Dakhla. Desert behind you, ocean close by. You quickly feel far away from everything. The spot works almost year-round. You ride without stress, without crowds, with the feeling that you have time-time to learn, to progress, or simply to cruise on long tacks with no pressure. The wind is consistent, averaging around 27 km/h over the year, blowing side to side-onshore. These are ideal conditions for kitesurfing and wingfoiling, from beginners to advanced riders. THE BEST SPOTS IN DAKHLA
OASIS212
A vast lagoon makes this the ideal place to learn, progress, or enjoy long sessions in consistently reliable conditions. As a kitesurfer or wingfoiler at ION CLUB Dakhla Oasis212 beach, you register in advance at the reception. In return, you gain full access to all the center’s facilities and services.
If you bring your own equipment, you can store it in the dedicated storage areas with direct access to the inflation station (compressor). Personal equipment may not be stored in the hotel bungalows.
Your safety is a priority:
The storage area is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It is closed at night and monitored by a night security service. Changing rooms and lockers are available for your convenience
DAKHLA WHITE DUNE
It is impossible not to visit the famous White Dune! A unique moment in nature, the White Dune is a must for experienced kitesurfers. If you are lucky you may even come across dolphins along the way. The view from the top of the dune is breathtaking. Scan the turquoise waters of the bay and the sand dunes as you follow the horizon. For the more adventurous, you can even jump off of the dune and straight into the lagoon.
At high tide the area is transformed into an island. You can directly reach the White Dune from the ION CLUB Dakhla White Dune Canyon center by kite or wing. At low tide only kitesurfers are able to pass the sandbanks, riding from one pool to another. Otherwise, 4X4 departures are organized every day, to kite in the open sea on the other side of the dune.
SURF SPOTS NEAR DAKHLA
Our center organizes surfing and kitesurfing excursions and sessions at various spots around Dakhla.
Pointe de L’or: A surf spot which is 15 minutes from the ION CLUB center, with a sandy bottom and a light crosswind for the first few meters, which then picks up speed to guarantee a great wave kitesurfing session.
Oum Labouir: A surf and kitesurfing spot in the waves, which is about 30 minutes by 4×4 from the ION CLUB center. Here the waves are cleaner and still on a sandy bottom. Watch out for the rocks as you approach the point. The constant wind is also sideshore and always from the right. It is a real dream spot, accessible to advanced levels of surfers and kitesurfers.
Aarich: The Aarich spot is located 30 minutes from Dakhla White Dune Canyon, and is another spot where our ION CLUB center can accompany you for a surf session. With a sandy beach and mostly offshore winds, the waves can be of excellent quality. A little-frequented spot, Aarich Bay gives you the privilege of surfing almost alone in the world, whatever your level! Be careful though, as the current is stronger at high tide.

WIND
At ION CLUB Oasis 212, the wind blows steadily. In the lagoon, it comes side-on from the left reliable, present, but rarely overpowering. These conditions create an excellent playground for kitesurfers and wingfoilers of all levels, including complete beginners.
Temperatures remain comfortable throughout the year, both in the air and in the water.
WAVES
It’s not hard to find waves near Dakhla or its lagoon. On the Atlantic side, spots like Oum Labouir, Aarich and the Pointe d’Or make the region a multi-spot for all levels of rider, whether kitesurfing or surfing.

HOW TO GET TO DAKHLA ?
Local carrier Royal Air Maroc offers daily flights from Europe. Most aircraft make a short stop-over in Casablanca or Marrakech. Every Monday and Friday a direct flight from Paris Orly is possible with Transavia.
From the airport to Oasis 212
The center is located within the Oasis 212 Hotel. It is approximately a 50-minute drive away. Transfers are organized from the airport or from the city of Dakhla, making access easy and seamless for guests.

Don’t hesitate to visit the incredible Dragon Island. At low tide you can reach it on foot, and the walk will allow you to admire the kitesurfers in action, and dolphins if you are lucky. Flamingos and other migratory birds may also be your welcoming committee. You can also visit the island by boat (several companies offer excursions), and spend a wonderful day at this fabulous site.
THE SOUK OF DAKHLA, SMALL BUT AUTHENTIC
Like all Moroccan towns Dakhla has its own souk. Unlike Marrakech, Dakhla’s souk is not very big, but it is well worth the detour. You will find souvenirs which are not easily found elsewhere in Morocco. One of the items you will find in this souk is the Melhfa, which is a lightweight fabric used by women in the Sahara to cover themselves. It will keep you cooler on your next visit to the desert.
IMLILI
Located about 100 km south of Dakhla, Imlili is a truly unique lagoon set deep in the desert. It is famous for its natural pools, fed by underground freshwater springs and home to small fish, an extraordinary phenomenon in such an arid environment.

Yes, but as with all sports you need to have a certain level of fitness. We accept children aged 12 and over.
IS THE SPOT SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS?
Yes. The lagoon is wide, safe, and especially reassuring, making it an ideal place to learn.
