In the middle of the Atlantic, 1500 km south of the Canary Islands and 450 km west of the coast of Senegal, is the small island group of Cape Verde. Appearing almost insignificant, but very valuable - and not only for us windsurfers and kitesurfers. The seamen used the favorable winds of the Cape Verdes to cross the Atlantic Ocean long before us. In the late eighties Club Mistral recognized the potential and benefits of Cape Verde and decided to stay on the island. The ION CLUB Center is centrally located on the beautiful beach of the fishing town of Santa Maria.
Although the island of Sal is very sparse and almost a desert landscape, the locals have given it their own alluring charm. Above all, the fun-loving inhabitants characterize the Cape Verde Islands and will leave you feeling wonderful. "You do not need much to be happy." This saying could have originated on these islands. Aside from fishing, which brings food and a source of income, music also plays a crucial role in the lives of Cape Verdeans. Although in recent years more and more hotels have been built on Sal, the island has retained its charm and is ideal for windsurfers, kitesurfers and surfers - a wave paradise par excellence.
