At the ION CLUB center we offer a wide range of different wing surf lessons. Whether you are a complete beginner who has no previous experience in any kind of surf sport before, or a windsurfer, kitesurfer or surfer eager to learn this amazing new sport … we can help!
Beginner lessons are actually very similar to windsurfing beginner lessons, with students starting on a windsurfing board, but trading the sail for a wing. After that the learning objectives for beginners are the same as for our windsurf students, and after only a couple of hours you will be able to ride by yourself.
For the more experienced riders we offer a high standard of wing foil lessons which take place in small groups with a maximum of 2 people per instructor. We teach you how to fly safely, jibe, or even jump with your wing foil gear.

ION CLUB Le Morne provides the latest equipment from DUOTONE and FANATIC.
Wings and boards are especially geared to beginner instruction. It goes without saying that we use the most up-to-date safety systems, and our experienced and fully certified instructors teach wingsurfing in a very safe environment, allowing you to learn the sport without danger or frustration.
SAFETY IN PRACTICING WINGFOIL LE MORNE
With two rescue boats you can be sure that wingsurfing in Mauritius is safe for every level. Conditions can be interesting (on some days, a passage for the rescue boat is not possible), so it´s important to know your limits and especially to listen to the advice and tips from the local team; then a good time is guaranteed.
FLEXIBILITY
Booking a lesson online is always a tricky thing to do – we know. Determining which course you actually need, without being on site, on the water and trying is very difficult.
So, don’t worry! No matter which course you pre-book with us. If during the lesson you realise, that another course would be better suited for you, we will always change your booking to the best course available to match your needs.

After handling your Wing is not a problem anymore and you´re able to navigate safely on a beginner Board with your Wing, it´s time to enter the next level. You will be introduced to a safe and efficient way to Wingfoil. The goal of this Intro is to lift your Board out of the water, grow Wings and fly:)
For all experienced Windsurfers and Kitesurfers, it can be booked even without having prior Wing experience. For everyone else, make sure to start with our Wing Surf Discovery first.

Participants need to be able to Wing Surf safely and independently on a non foiling Board in conditions up to 20 knots.

Climb on board your private boat for a 3 hour session. The skipper and senior level Instructor will take care of you from now. The boatride to one of Le Mornes secluded spots is 10-15 minutes where you can enjoy the incredible scenery of Le Morne. Once you reach the private waist deep lagoon, you will learn with 2 way radio communication where appropriate and private boat assistance, there has never been a more luxurious or safe way to learn to kitesurf, wingsurf, windsurf or surf. This course is suitable for complete beginners to advanced level riders wanting to practice tricks away from crowds or wave riding with the security of private boat assistance.

A word about
ION CLUB Le Morne
Mauritius rose out of the sea from volcanic eruptions 8 million years ago. The fiery mountains slowly extinguished, leaving behind craters, craggy peaks and a tropical paradise. God must already have been a surfer, as the lava floor sank a little, allowing a coral reef to grow and almost completely encircle the island. The resulting lagoon is wonderfully smooth with a maximum depth of 4 metres. The reef itself is dependable, keeping huge fish and other beasties away.
This divine topography has been used to its fullest extent by ION CLUB, and we have been able to provide our guests with perfect conditions in this all round location for windsurfing, kitesurfing, wingsurfing, SUP and waveriding. The starting point is the lagoon, a secure flat water play area for everybody, whether kitesurfers who prefer to romp downwind or the freestyle and freeride windsurfers who speed upwind. Further out, the reef at Little Reef or Manawa will fulfill any special advanced wishes.

WIND
The wind usually blows from the East or Southeast (left side-shore) and reaches an average speed of 12 to 20 knots during the Southern Hemisphere summer (November to March) and approximately 15 to 26 knots in winter (April to October). In winter, the trade winds are more prevalent and blow more strongly. Between December and April, there can be heavy precipitation.
The practice of wingfoiling and windsurfing depends on the tides.
WAVES
There are four main waves at Le Morne : Little Reef: Ideal for beginners looking to start wave navigation. Chameau and Manawa: Located a bit further offshore, these waves are higher and more powerful but with greater depth. They are suitable for intermediate levels. One Eye: This wave is characterized by shallow waters and considerable power. It is reserved for experienced wave riders with their own kite, wing, or windsurfing equipment.
Safety is ensured with a boat always ready to depart.
HOW TO GET TO LE MORNE ?
From the airport
Take the coastal road heading west towards Souillac and Chemin Grenier. The road follows the South coast, passing through Souillac, Bel Ombre, and Baie du Cap towards Le Morne. After the village of Le Morne and past the Le Morne mountain, turn left. You will pass by the Paradis, Dinarobin, and St Regis hotels, where you can find us. If you want to go to the ION CLUB shop La Gaulette, the shop is located on the main road, after Le Morne, heading towards La Gaulette.
